#7 The perfect history: Your life
What personal growth means? What is the best approach to personal evolution?
What is progrees? Interesting question! ;) I define progress as the accomplishment of little objectives that drive us to a big goals in our life.
But what are these “big goals”? And how we define it? Another good question! And how we converge all this objectives to the main one?
A lot of topis here, let’s break it down a little bit.
First: What is the main one?
We have limited time and all we want to maximize the way we live to think we had a great life, and when in the future we look back to explain our histories to our childrens, we want to explain great histories so they can admire us.
So… I think a good part from our “main goal” is to create a history that we feel proud and we want to share it with the world & feel we did it great.
Be free: We live in a time that we can decide all we have and have a good life, this freedom is new to this era and we have to take advantage. Ask yourself what do you want and decide seeing the world is surrounding you.
How to build a great history?
A great history is when:
We go beyond the expectatives.
We achive the unchievable.
We overcome ourselves.
Decided & executed from ourselves.
A group of small great histories.
DECIDE, DECIDE, DECIDE!
I think the most painful & fun part of our history is when take ownership and we have to decide every detail. Start from a point where nobody gives you nothing and start building yourself. I think it’s the only way you can percieve the real value of the things and you can live the life fully.
Deciding, failing, learn & decide again is the most rapid way to the progress. Just start failing to start learning.
How to design a good history?
Every history is unique, the details are the real difference between them. So to design your history you must know yourself and detect the opportunities the life bring you and take it or discart them.
There’s a story from Bill Gates that explain perfectly the approach that we have to have to opportunities.
Knowing yourself allows you to detect your strong & weak points and help you to make decissions that will help to go further.
So…how to design a good history? Making the good decisions based on the information about you and the enviroment.
All the individuals have their own way to live his history, and you have to discover yours.
The different decisions are the “big goals”
This “big goals” I talked before are the different decisions we have to make to create our history. For every individual can be different, but remember…a great history has a little bit of everything, and every little thing has amazing histories inside.
I’m talking that, as a humans, we have to feel realized in different aspects in our life. I think the 80 % of this things are:
Personal life: We have to be proud from ourselves.
Professional life: We have to feel realized.
Significant relations: We have to relationate with people that drives us to be better people.
So…the big goals are the different goals that guide the history of the main things that our life has.
A big goal can be “have a perfect relationship with our grandmother”, or “finish my degree”.
What is progress?
Returning to principle question. The progress is the different things we do to accomplish our big goals.
Our big goals have to be align with the main goals. Differents takeaways:
No aligment, no progress.
No big goals, no progress.
No execution, no progress.
No roadmap, no progress.
How we converge the progress with a good history?
Creating a good “big goals”. So… If you have different big goals and you work hard to accomplish you will create a great history.
Conclusion
Work every day to create a history you feel proud, start imaginating the life you want, follow by write it down, determine the different big goals and put it in a timeline. Start the execution & never stopp. Pivot when you feel you’re not in your way & start again if it’s necessari. That’s the only form to create a good history.
